1990s Bathroom Transformation into 2022 New Bathroom – took place in Rothley LE7
We took on an exciting project for a client who wanted to modernize the existing space, make it look more spacious, and add in a few extras to maximize the convenience and comfort of the bathroom area. The bathroom was a 1990s styled one and had its fair share of specifics. The client faced a challenge: the bathroom area was practically unusable because half the wall was tiled and the other half was skinned. The goal was to provide a comfortable and functional showering area, create a nice and welcoming design, and add a seating area for extra convenience.
Our team rolled up their sleeves, planned the project, and got to work.
The Bathroom Redesign Solution
The first thing we did was to take out the bath in order to create the desired showering area with attention to its accessibility and an open-space concept. Considering the client’s requirements, we chose to install 60×60 large format tiles in the shower area and matching 30×60 coloured tiles for the rest of the walls. This made the space extremely easy to clean and it also reshaped the look and feel of the area. We gave in an elegant and natural-looking finish with vinyl flooring with a wood effect. This contributed to the overall floor and appearance of the bathroom.
To create the desired shower area, we came across one challenge. The bathroom didn’t have a shower and we needed to install a shower pump to function the current thermostatic two-head shower.
In addition, we added a maintenance-free cladding. In terms of the lighting in the space, we installed four LED lights that brought in a modern and sophisticated touch, while dramatically reducing the energy consumption of the room. We also changed the extraction fan to a timer. To make the bathroom more visually appealing and functional for storage, we created two pigeon holes for ornaments, shower bottles, and other accessories. As the client wanted to have a seat for comfort and convenience in the bathroom, we also created a bench made from tiles, which fitted in exceptionally well with the design.
The customer wanted to keep the existing radiator, but the rest of the bathroom is completely new-looking and refreshed. As a result, it looks much more spacious and welcoming.
